Thorsby was founded by Swedes in the late 1800s and was established as a Scandinavian Colony in the South.
This year's celebration features a parade at 9 a.m., entertainment, arts, crafts and food vendors, a car show, Viking 5K run, and more!
The idea of the festival to honor these early settlers began in the late 1980s with the first event being held in 1988. It was called the Swedish Festival but it actually celebrates its truly Scandinavian beginnings. Alongside those Swedish settlers were peoples from Norway, Finland and Denmark as well.
