Help support the efforts of Open Arms of Minnesota, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit that cooks and delivers free, nutritious meals to people with life-threatening illnesses.

At the Bowls for Open Arms Soup Social held at ASI, enjoy a bowl of house-made soup from FIKA Café with bread and a beverage. Plus, attendees will receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl made for the St. Kate’s Empty Bowl Project, which has benefitted Open Arms since 2011. There will be more than 101 bowls available, and advanced registration is encouraged. The purchase of each ticket supports two made-from-scratch meals for a neighbor facing a health crisis.

Bowls for Open Arms is an exhibition project on view now through April 8 at the American Swedish Institute. It is co-presented by regional craft organizations advocating for the advancement of the handmade: ASI, Foci - Minnesota Center for Glass Arts, Northern Clay Center and the American Association of Woodturners. Craft ambassadors from each organization have collaborated to present a selection of handmade bowls available for purchase, with 100% of the proceeds going to Open Arms of Minnesota.

Cost:
$20. Includes a hand-made ceramic bowl, a bowl of house-made FIKA soup, bread and beverage.
