The U.S. National Kubb Championship is the largest kubb tournament outside of Europe and one of the largest in the world. It is one of two two-day tournaments, along with the World Championship in Rone, Gotland in Sweden.
The tournament was started in 2007 in Eau Claire, WI and hosted by Wisconsin Kubb. On December 13, 2011, Eau Claire, WI officially became the Kubb Capital of North America.
In 2012, teams will need to have at least three players, and no player will be able to throw more than two batons. The top eight teams will return Sunday morning to start the quarterfinals. It is anticipated that the Final will start around noon.
The Championship will also have a team t-shirt contest. The three teams with the top team shirts will win prizes and get a half-page picture in the 2013 Kubbnation Magazine.
We have a couple other things up our sleeve for this year as well. Some of these are a result of our experience at the World Kubb Championship and others are things we have been thinking about for awhile. Some of these are small and some are pretty big. We cannot wait until July 14th and 15th.
