Baroness Blixen, the aging grand dame of literature, returns to NYC as a play based on the true story of the 1948 relationship between Karen Blixen, then aged 62, and Thorkild Bjørnvig, 29. Full of humor, passion, tension and poetry, was written for stage by playwright Thor Bjørn Krebs, inspired by anecdotes, letters and books by and about both Blixen and Bjørnvig.
The Baroness (Om Baronessen) premiered to rave reviews at the Folketeatret in Copenhagen in 2011 and was a Reumert Award nominee for Play of the Year in 2012 (the Danish equivalent of the Tony Award).
