The Consulate General of Sweden and SWEA San Francisco invite you to "Shadows We Carry: Stig & The Mystery of The Monster Mother", a literary evening with Lo Dagerman. Lo will talk about Stig Dagerman (1923-1954) – a father she never knew. Vendela Vida, a Bay Area writer and journalist, will interview Lo after her presentation. The program will be in English.

4:45-5:00 pm: Refreshments (coffee/tea)
5:00-6:30 pm: Presentation by Lo Dagerman and Vendela Vida.
6:30-7:30 pm: Reception and book signing. Books available for sale for $20/book (only cash or check made out to Lo Dagerman).

Vendela Vida is the award-winning author of five books, including Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name, The Lovers and The Diver’s Clothes Lie Empty. She is a founding co-editor of The Believer Magazine and also the co-editor of Always Apprentices, a collection of interviews with writers, and Confidence, or the Appearance of Confidence, a collection of interviews with musicians. Her books have been translated into a dozen languages. With David Katznelson, she is currently editing an anthology that will showcase classic Swedish literature, much of which has not been available in decades, or has never before been translated.
