The league may be Swedish, but the day belonged to Brazil as South American players scored to lead three teams to victory in Round 12 of the Allsvenskan.
Ari da Silva Ferreira left Kalmar with a flourish as he scored the first goal in Kalmar’s 2-0 win over Örebro. Junior notched a stoppage-time goal to lead Malmö to a 2-1 win over IFK Goteborg. In Stockholm, Enrico Cardoso Nazare hit a brace as he led Djurgården to a 2-1 win over Gefle.
“There are some very good Brazilian players in Sweden right now,” said Elfsborg striker James Keene. “They have really contributed to the improvement in the league.”
In the only match that didn’t feature a Brazilian goal scorer, Brommapojkarna ended its 11-game road trip with a 1-0 win over GAIS.

STOCKHOLM – “Enrico Fantastico” the papers screamed as Brazilian midfielder Enrico Cardoso Nazare scored twice to lead Djurgården to a 2-1 win over visiting GAIS. The Brazilian opened the scoring in the 23 rd minute, giving DIF a 1-0 lead. Former Djurgården striker Rene Makondele tied the match two minutes after the interval. Nazare hit his game winner 10 minutes from time. The 23-year-old Brazilian has four goals on the season.

KALMAR – Ari da Silva Ferreira said goodbye in style to the Kalmar faithful as he scored the first goal in a 2-0 win over Örebro. The match was Ferreira’s last at Kalmar. He joied Dutch side AZ Alkmaar July 3. Ferreira opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Patrik Ingelsten scored Kalmar’s second goal in the 83rd minute. Ferreira leaves Sweden with three goals in 12 matches. He has 15 career goals in 35 Allsvenskan games. The victory pulled Kalmar level on points with first-place Elfsborg, although Kalmar trails in goal difference.

GÖTEBORG – Junior scored an injury time goal to lift Malmö to a 2-1 win over IFK Göteborg at Ullevi Stadium. The Brazilian scored off a pass from Christian Jardler three minutes into stoppage time. Niklas Skoog put Malmö in front at the 21-minute mark. Marcus Berg tied the score in the 69th minute when he struck from the penalty spot for his league-leading eighth goal of the season.

VÄLLINGBY – BP ended its 11-match road odyssey by returning home and claiming a 1-0 over GAIS. Construction at Grimsta sports park forced BP to play all but one of its first 11 matches on the road. Jan-Erik Berg scored the lone of the match one minute into the second half. It was his first goal of the season.

SOLNA – Ivan Obolo scored in his debut match to lead AIK to a 2-0 win over Trelleborg. Obolo, an Argentine, struck in the 71st minute. Kenny Pavey scored the second goal of the game four minutes later.

HALMSTAD – Defending league champions Elfsborg put in its worst performance of the season, losing 3-0 to Halmstad. Dusan Djuric and Mikael Rosen each had a goal and an assist. Hasse Mattisson also scored for HBK.

HELSINGBORG – The Reds rushed out to a 3-0 lead then survived a red card and a late flurry to beat Hammarby 4-2 at Olimpia Stadium. Samir Baloufa, Razak Omotoyossi and Henrik Larsson staked Helsingborg to a 3-0 lead after 56 minutes. Sebastian Castro Tello pulled a goal back for the Bajen at the 61-minute mark. Beloufa received a red card after he got into a scuffle with Christian Traore, who also got his marching orders. Down to 10 men each, Hammarby used the open space to press its attack, with Paulinho Guara pulled the Bajen within a goal in the 74th minute. McDonald Mariga hit the fourth for HIF four minutes into stoppage time.
