The 'Ice Princess' filmed in English

Läckberg's debut book to be filmed in English language.

  • Camilla Läckberg’s debut novel “Isprinsessan” (“The Ice Princess”) is going to become an English-language film. The Swedish version starred (above) Elisabet Carlsson and Niklas Hjulström.
  • Kelly Reilly, an actress known from films like “Sherlock Holmes”, “Eden Lake”, and “Pride and Prejudice”, will star in the English-language version of Camilla Läckberg’s crime novel “Isprinsessan” (“The Ice Princess”). Directing the new version of the film (there was also a Swedish version starring Elisabet Carlsson and Niklas Hjulström) is Danish film director Birger Larsen, who earlier directed movies based on fellow Swedish writer Henning Mankell's inspector Wallander.
Läckberg’s book, her debut, was released in 2003. The English-language version will start shooting in the beginning of 2013, and so far it’s not known if it will be shot in Fjällbacka (where both the book and the Swedish film take place) or if it will be set elsewhere. Larsen will discuss the project at the next Cannes Film Festival. For more on Camilla Läckberg: www.nordstjernan.com/news/people/2476/
