Jenny Lind scholar and concert tour

Enjoy a program of Nordic folk music and opera arias in the near-perfect acoustics of Pennsylvania's oldest church, Old Swedes' Church.

  • On June 8, the 2018 Jenny Lind scholar, soprano Kine Sandtrø, will perform a summer evening of song from 1850, the year Jenny Lind herself sang at Gloria Dei (Old Swedes) Church in Philadelphia. Sandtrø will be accompanied by Julia Sjöstedt, who is studying piano at the Academy of Music in Stockholm.

  • 7:30-9 p.m. Suggested donation: $20/adult and $10/student (proceeds benefit historic preservation work at Gloria Dei Church and the mission of the Augustana Institute.
