  • Sequel to Larsson’s Millennium series
A sequel to the late Swedish author Stieg Larsson's best-selling Millenium crime trilogy will go on sale in at least 35 countries in August, the book's publishers, Norstedts, recently said. "That Which Does Not kill" was completed in November by David Lagercrantz, known for co-authoring Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic's autobiography. The book will continue the story of the troubled but resourceful heroine Lisbeth Salander first made famous in Larsson's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."
"What I wanted to make use of in the book was the vast mythology that Stieg Larsson left behind, the world he created," Lagercrantz told Dagens Nyheter, adding that he remained loyal to Larsson's writing style which weaved criticism of social and political issues with criminal intrigue.
Stieg Larsson died of a heart attack at age 50 in 2004. At the time of his death Larsson reportedly had plans to write at least another seven novels.

  • Who doesn't wonder what happens next to Lisbeth Salander? Film critics were falling in love with Noomi Rapace, star of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," when it premiered in the U.S.
  • More Beckham at H&M
H&M once again invited former soccer player David Beckham to lend his name to a new collection. Titled "Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham," the new menswear line will be available March 5.

"I am thrilled to continue and extend my collaboration with H&M by selecting my favorites from this spring's Modern Essentials collection. Each piece is a new wardrobe classic that will update every man's spring wardrobe with great style.”
The Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham line includes some of the season's important menswear pieces, including a linen bomber jacket, a white denim jacket, a linen blazer, a polo shirt and a classic white poplin shirt.
Naturally, the athlete is also the face of this new ready-to-wear collection in a campaign shot by filmmaker Marc Forster ("World War Z," "The Kite Runner").
Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham will go on sale March 5, on the same date as the celebrity's latest Bodywear collection, in select H&M stores and online.

  • Swedish top politician helped Afghan flee
Sweden's former foreign minister Carl Bildt has said he helped Afghan student and journalist Pervez Kambaksh secretly flee the country in 2009.
Kambaksh was convicted for publishing critical texts about Islam and the Swedish intervention saved the man from the death penalty. He was smuggled into a Swedish government plane at Kabul airport while Bildt waited on board.
In an interview with Swedish daily Expressen, Bildt said the operation was coordinated with Kai Eide, the U.N.'s envoy to Afghanistan at the time. He also said Kambaksh was pardoned after his escape and is now likely in the U.S.
