We caught up with the former cantor and assistant at the Swedish Church in New York recently in Lund, Sweden.
Readers of Nordstjernan most certainly remember Christina “Kicki” Nylund, who worked as a cantor and assistant at the Swedish Church in New York from 2002 to 2006. Kicki made the choir at the church sound nothing short of amazing and was responsible for putting together many memorable concerts.
I caught up with Kicki (whose last name is now Willstedt) in Lund, where she works as a church musician in Uppåkra parish and resides with her husband Tomas Willstedt, principal organist at Lund Cathedral, and their 1-year-old daughter Lydia.
“I miss New York a lot,” Kicki says. “We visited in 2008, but I would like to go back again. I had a wonderful time there, please say hello to everybody!"
We hope to see Kicki and her family in the Big Apple soon!
