'From Farm to Fork' returns

SACC New York's 2013 Annual Green Summit offers a star studded lineup.

  • SACC New York’s Annual Green Summit - October 23 - will be a day of insightful discussions on sustainability in the food chain culminating in a Royal Gala Award Dinner in the evening.
    H.R.H. Princess Madeleine and her husband Christopher O’Neill will be attending both the summit and the Royal Gala Award Dinner.
    The day’s event will feature a plethora of prominent speakers, including Johan Rockström, professor and director of the Stockholm Resilience Centre and internationally recognized for his work on global sustainability issues, lauded celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson and Michael Moss, Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist who recently garnered headlines with his book Salt Sugar Fat in which he examines the processed food industry. Delving into issues such as food security, the contributions of passionate entrepreneurs and the challenges of the big players in the industry, the day aims to enlighten participants on the subject and promote a change in mindset.
    This year’s region in focus, the city of Stockholm, will influence many aspects of the day. The evening’s event, held at Apella at Alexandria Center, will feature a Stockholm-inspired dinner menu designed and curated by Marcus Samuelsson. It will also feature a visually stunning presentation by National Geographic photographer Mattias Klum, and a keynote on food fraud by Anna Maria Corazza Bildt, member of the European Parliament.
