Embassy of Sweden bomb threat

    The Swedish Embassy in Washington received a bomb threat on Thursday, at around 3pm. Police were called to the embassy, which is located in the 2900 block of K Street Northwest, they searched the premises but nothing suspicious was found. ”(The embassy) received a threat and it had to be taken seriously of course,” says Victoria Bell at the Foreign Ministry’s press department, when commenting on the threat.

  • A person called the embassy at around 3 pm local time, and according to an employee at the embassy, asked to speak to the consul general or someone else handling the case of Julian Assange. The person then said that there was a bomb in the building.
