Open House at House of Sweden

Ambassador Björn Lyrvall voting: Ballots are open for expat Swedes to vote in the EU election until May 15.  

  • From May 22 to May 25 2014, elections to the European Parliament will be held in the the European Union (EU). Ballots were open at Embassy of Sweden in DC, which held an Open House on May 11.
    Swedish citizens residing in, or visiting, the the U.S. may vote by mail (no earlier than April 10), or cast their advance votes in person at the Embassy of Sweden or select Consulates of Sweden beginning on May 1 until May 15, 2014. To be eligible to vote in the election, you must have turned 18 no later than on Election Day (May 25, 2014), and you must have, at some point, been registered as a resident of Sweden (folkbokförd). Note that you cannot vote abroad on Election Day, May 25. Check with your local consulate for open times.
