Events at the living museum

Philadelphia's American Swedish Historical Museum offers a smörgåsbord of festivities year round. 

  • On Saturday, June 25, the American Swedish Historical Museum hosted its annual Midsommarfest with amazing weather, maypole dancing, games, food, sing-along, homemade pastries, live music from The Swedish Meatballs and more.
  • Smörgåsbeer'd in early August and the Crayfish party of August 26 may be among the more popular late summer events at the beautiful museum in FDR Park, Philadelphia but the museum offers so much more: Seminars, cooking and language classes, special exhibitions, toddler times and activities in cooperation with other local organizations.
