Former Consul General Kerstin Lane - founding director of the Swedish American Museum - will receive the Outstanding Community Leader Award’ during Chicago Cultural Alliance Mosaic Event in May.
We asked our long time friend Kerstin how she felt about her many years of work for the community and the upcoming award,
“My work in the Swedish community has been filled with so much joy. The Swedish museum has become my Swedish family in the USA. Some of what I learnt in my museum has transformed into my work for Chicago Cultural Alliance. The contact with many ethnic groups in Chicago has been an amazing growing experience and it has been great to see CCA develop into a leader in the ethnic cultural life of this city of ethnic neighborhoods.”
