Midsummer in Bishop Hill, Illinois

The longest day of the year was celebrated with a Music Fest on June 21.

• The longest day of the year was celebrated with a day of music in the village park and the decoration of the maypole. The maypole ("midsommarstång") is carried at the head of a procession to the Colony School where it is raised and traditional Swedish ring dances commence.
