Kubb and a concert

  • Mystery Monday features Wink the Other on Monday August 29 at the Grant House in Rush City. Kubb is an additional activity offered on this evening. At 4:30 p.m. players can start a game in the back of the restaurant. Photo by V. S. Arrowsmith.
  • A musical group with wide versatility and interests in musical genres will perform at the Historic Grant House in Rush City on Monday, August 29, at 5:49 p.m. Wink the Other Eye, a four-member band from East Central Minnesota, will play guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and bass, and will include blue grass and old time tunes and songs.

  • The event is sponsored by We R Able. The evening begins will a few rounds of Kubb, a Viking lawn game outdoors on the Grant House lawn at 4:30 p.m. Connor Lestrud is the instructor, and he is a champion Kubb player from the Masse Moro Norwegian Language Camp near Eau Claire, WI. After the Kubb games guests may adjourn to the restaurant and order off the menu at 5:11 p.m., a mysterious start time. Music begins at 5:49 p.m. There will also be cryptograms and other puzzles to add to the mystery of the night. Pre-registration is needed. A sliding scale fee is charged for Kubb, and a donation is recommended for the music. Please call 320-358-1211.
