Swedish dance class

Learning Swedish dances is as easy as walking .. the Swedish Museum in Chicago offers classes in March.

  • Enthusiastic dance couples ready to dance the Hambo.
  • According to Paul Muhr and Linda Westergren-Muhr, if you can walk and count to three, you can dance. The couple will conduct four classes on the traditional dances of Sweden at the Swedish American Museum in Chicago at 7:30 p.m. on consecutive Fridays: March 2, 9, 16 and 23.

  • Linda Westergren-Muhr and Paul Muhr have had folk dance classes for more than 22 years at the Swedish American Museum in Chicago.
  • The emphasis will be on basic dance techniques, one step at a time. Beginners - will learn how to recognize music, connect with a partner, lead and follow. Those with advanced abilities - improve techniques and develop additional dancing skills.

  • Partners are not required.

  • Attendance at all four sessions is recommended but not necessary. The fees are $10/class for Museum members, and $15/non-members. Advance payments for all four sessions is $32/member and $48/non-members. Register at the Museum or online at www.SwedishAmericanMuseum.org
