Summer rush to New York.

The weak dollar has nearly doubled Swedish travel to the U.S. and New York.

  • New York City – where Swedes go for summer.
  • The cheap dollar means Swedes are choosing to go to New York this summer. During the three summer months (June, July, and August) the number of booked trips to New York has increased with 91% since the same period last year, according to statistics from the travel agency Ticket. Other big cities popular among traveling Swedes are London (where sales have gone up 50% since last year) and Barcelona (up 32% since last year).

  • New York has been popular for some time - as reported alreay in March this year, Swedes' favorite city but, while New Yorkers tend to leave their city in the summer, summer has put the metropolis at the top of Swede's travel plans.
