As for Hästens, well, first came Dux, then low cost IKEA, the NASA certified Tempur Pedic mattress (yes, originally Swedish!) then Hästens, which contrary to, e.g, competing Carpe Diem, was around in Sweden since the mid 1800s. Now, very much present in the U.S. after the present fifth generation owner, Jan Ryde, kicked off a major international program in the early 1990s.
Do Swedes do better in bed or, with beds? Be that as it may, we do sleep well, don't we?

For the evening's guests Chef Andreas Volmefjord had prepared the most delicious hors d’oeuvres... carpaccio on toast and an inspired variety of finger food, including "mandatory" gravlax on pumpernickel with dill.
The entertainment was quite unusual. A Russian young dance group performed as if they were trying out for dancing with the stars—and this is where, one way or another, some of them will probably end up in a couple of years.
