Royal treat at Red Rooster, NY

H.R.H. Princess Madeleine arrives at the Harlem restaurant for the lunch with its owner Marcus Samuelsson.

  • After working up an appetite touring Castle Clinton, the royal entourage had lunch with Marcus Samuelsson, the Göteborg born celebrity chef in Harlem. The award-winning Samuelsson was poster chef for New York's restaurant Aquavit for many years prior to opening his own restaurant, Red Rooster on Lenox Avenue in 2010.     Mårten Grunditz, Sweden’s Ambassador to the United Nations, and his wife Maine Grunditz, as well as Ide Dangoor, the Honorary Consul General’s wife, also participated in the luncheon.

  • H.R.H. Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill arrive at Red Rooster, the Harlem restaurant made famous by Swedish chef Marcus Samuelsson. The princess couple has lived and worked in New York but are now settling down in London - with frequent trips to Stockholm, of course.
