Royal Salute for the Princess!

Princess Madeleine of Sweden has given birth and at noon Friday, Feb. 22, 21-gun royal salutes were fired throughout Sweden.

  • H.R.H Madeleine of Sweden and her husband Chris O’Neill welcomed their first baby, a daughter on February 20. The baby was born in New York City at 10.41 pm.

  • ”Both mother and child are in good health,” the Swedish court said. Chris O’Neill was reportedly present at the birth, which took place at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. The name of their baby daughter and her title will be announced after King Carl Gustaf meets the cabinet.

  • The new father, Mr. Christopher O'Neill met the press at the New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York. "She looks like her mum which is all I wanted," he said, ""We have ten fingers, ten toes, and a very strong, nice roar."
    A beautiful and healthy baby according to hospital officials, weighing 6.9 lbs (3150 grams) and measured just under 20 inches (50 cm).
