Princess Leonore’s christening took place at Stockholm's Drottningholm Palace Chapel on June 8th and all went according to plans. See the film on SVT Play here:[Prinsessan Leonores Dop]

The baby wore a christening gown that was first worn by Prince Gustaf Adolf at his 1906 christening. It has also been worn by his siblings (Sigvard, Queen Ingrid, Prince Bertil, and Carl Johan) as well as by Prince Gustaf Adolf and Princess Sibylla’s children, that is, Princesses Margaretha, Birgitta, Desirée, and Christina, as well as our King. It was also worn by Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Madeleine, and Princess Estelle.
At Princess Margaretha’s 1935 christening a cape and a cap in cream-colored silk satin were added. In the cape’s lining all the babies christened along with the dates for those christenings have been embroidered. The christening gown is made of cotton batiste and valencia lace (bobbin lace) with a petticoat of satin woven silk. The gown is trimmed with lace around the armholes. There’s also a christening napkin to go with the gown, also made in cotton batiste and valencia lace.
Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill have chosen six godparents for their daughter, Princess Leonore. They are: Crown Princess Victoria, Louise Gottlieb (a friend of Princess Madeleine’s), Patrick Sommerlath (Queen Silvia’s nephew), Tatjana d’Abo (Chris O’Neill’s sister), Ernst Abensperg und Traun (Chris O’Neill’s brother-in-law) and Alice Bamford (a childhood friend of Chris O’Neill’s).
