'Minecraft, Beverly Hills'

The most expensive Beverly Hills home is now owned by Minecraft founder Markus Persson.

  • Minecraft, the hugely popular video game, was originally created by Swedish programmer and billionaire bachelor Markus Persson, 35. Persson’s success has brought him to the U.S., where he bought a house in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The glass luxury villa has 23,000 square feet perched on a hilltop, eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, an infinity pool, a 16-car garage, private cinema and even a candy store. At $70 billion, it is the most ever paid for a house in Beverly Hills. Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly bid on the house but lost out to Persson.
