The Poaching Wars

Extraordinary photography by Swedish photojournalist Frank af Petersens in his first American exhibit, The Poaching Wars, opens this weekend in Santa Monica, California. 

  • Swedish photographer Frank af Petersens is bringing some of his latest work to his first American exhibit, The Poaching Wars, opening on January 24 at Gallery 169 in Santa Monica, California. af Petersens, who has become known for his stunning black and white photos of elephants in the wild, in recent years has almost exclusively focused on projects of fine art photography of sub-Saharan Africa, with two recurring themes: the ongoing struggle against rhino and elephant poaching, and the many issues related to the lingering colonial legacy in Africa.
