New stamps honor royalty

Just in time for the 4th birthday of HRH Princess Estelle a new stamp depicts three generations in the line of succession to the throne.

  • A new stamp honoring the current three generations of heirs to the throne includes King Carl XVI Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle, who just turned 4.
  • On Feb. 23, Princess Estelle’s 4th birthday, it was announced that new stamps with her likeness will be released on March 17. The series of stamps celebrates royal anniversaries and features the three generations in the line of succession: the King with Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle.

  • The three new royal stamps, available for Swedish post on March 17, 2016.
  • Two other stamps show King Carl XVI Gustaf, who turns 70 on April 30 and Queen Silvia, who celebrates 40 years as queen on June 19, their wedding anniversary. The stamps were designed by Daniel Bjugård from photographs by Anna-Lena Ahlström. They will be available to purchase in groups of three and are only for domestic mail.
