  • On a cold, windy and damp January 13, 2018, the third annual Viking Festival was held in Oldsmar, Florida. The Suncoast Scandinavian Club of Clearwater, FL had a booth at the event where Danish blue plates, ceramic Swedish province plaques and other Scandinavian items were sold. At the end of the day, our guest book pages were filled with names of people from all over the area. President Cherstin Peterson, Vice President Jeannie Carlson, Treasurer Tim Burns and Trustee Ed Peterson represented the club and provided an overview to everyone who stopped by our booth.

  • Vikings were present wherever you looked and all day long Viking reenactments were taking place. There were also weapons demonstrations, wool to woven fiber demonstrations and drop spindle spinning class, just to name a few events. The children, and also the adults, enjoyed kubb (sticks and bricks), Hnefatafl (Viking chess) and other games. An evening with the Vikings concluded the festival with a bonfire and Viking stories. www.scandinaviantrade.org
