Åtvidaberg celebrated its return to the Allsvenskan with an Opening Day win over Örebro.
League newcomers Åtvidaberg opened the 2012 season on a winning note, wining a wild 4-3 contest over Örebro at Behrn Arena that featured six first-half goals.
Victor Prodell scored twice while Amir Suljic and Jesper Arvidsson had a goal apiece as ÅFF built a 4-2 half-time lead. William Atashkadeh scored both first-half goals for Örebro. Prodell and Suljic staked Atvidaberg to a 2-0 lead before Atashkadeh scored his first goal in the 23rd minute. Prodell struck again in the 33rd minute before Atashkadeh made the score 3-2 at the 42-minute mark. Arvidsson put ÅFF back up by two goals two minutes into stoppage time.
The match settled down somewhat in the second half, with just one goal. Daniel Bamberg gave the home fans thoughts of a comeback when he struck in the 77th minute, but Åtvidaberg held on for the win.
