Capri designs in Stockholm

An exhibition at Svenskt Tenn, Stockholm inspired by graphic patterns formed by the Gulf of Naples and the dramatic cliffs of Capri.

• Interior design company Svenskt Tenn with its well known store on Strandvägen in Stockholm is presently showing a textile collection by fashion designer Lars Nilsson.

• Nilsson, whose resumé includes Dior, Ralph Lauren and many others, created the collection of textiles, prints and weave patterns exclusively for Svenskt Tenn. The patterns were drawn using watercolor, chalk and felt tip, during Lars Nilsson's stay as an artist-in-residence at Villa San Michele on the Italian island of Capri.

• ”I have always had a liking for stripes – and most of all for striped men’s shirts,” he says. ”But this time inspiration also came from the virtually graphic patterns formed by the Gulf of Naples and the dramatic Capri cliffs.
