Swedish gasoline prices well over $8 per gallon

Remember the outcry in the U.S. when prices got close to $4 per gallon?

  • Increasingly expensive “bensin” (gasoline) in Sweden.
  • Gasoline getting more expensive
Leading oil companies increased their gasoline prizes by 10 öre ($0.01). Doesn't sound like much? Well, one liter now costs SEK 14.93 ($2.10) per liter (one liter being 0.26 gallons) for 95 octane gasoline (Sweden's "Regular"). That's a bit over $8 per gallon.... The price of diesel increased at the same time by 10 öre to SEK 14.69 ($2.05) and the price of ethanol fuel E 85 increased 20 öre ($0.02) to SEK 10.24 ($1.45) per liter. These prices refer to manned gas stations.
