2008: Stockholm celebrates its perennial nickname '08' with an event called 080808 or 'Go 08'. 08 is the area code for Stockholm, and people living in Stockholm are usually (and sometimes snottily) referred to as “nollåttor” (zero-eighters) by the rest of Sweden. A water fight is held between northern and southern Stockholm at Gärdet and Stureplan is turned into a dance floor for 45,000 visitors. At 10:30 pm, there are fireworks at Slussen, and everyone born on this day receive a free passage to Gröna Lund, the amusement park, for the rest of their lives.
