Are you a single Swede looking to rent a studio apartment? Then take a number and have a seat. The wait in Sweden is on average two and a half years, according to a new report from Hyresgästföreningen (the Swedish Union of Tenants). It’s not just in major cities where the wait time is closer to fours years but in smaller towns as well. Only one region has wait times under one year, the province Dalarna. This year some 35,000 apartments are expected to be built, and the year after 38,000.
