The royal couple has moved to Stenhammar

The Royal Family follows the guidelines of the Public Health Authority and everyone in the households is healthy. 

  • Stenhammar Castle in the province of Södermanland is just outside of the city Flen about 120 kilometers southwest of Stockholm. Stenhammar, not considered a so called crown palace, is owned by the State but has been leased to King Carl XVI Gustaf since 1966.
  • T.R.H. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia have moved to Stenhammar's castle in Södermanland. They do not meet their grandchildren, other than through digital channels and work from home. Everyone is healthy and they are not quarantined, according to the court's press information. The king, 73, belongs to the risk group and has special protection as the country's head of state. The queen turned 76 in December, and the couple performs their assignments via telephone or video link. The Royal Family follows the guidelines of the Public Health Authority and no one has been tested for corona.
