Midsummer in New York 2014

Midsummer in the Big Apple is, yes we dare say it, quite possibly even better than midsummer back home.

  • A sea of people celebrating Midsummer in New York; the number of participants second only to the Rättvik celebration in Sweden.
  • Midsummer in the Big Apple is, yes we dare say it, quite possibly even better than midsummer back home. The weather is nearly always collaborating, the food is top notch (since non-Swedes will also eat of it, the people who prepare it put extra thought into the preparation), and friends from near and far enthusiastically celebrate in a way that might be considered over the top back home. By gathering, like we do in Battery Park each Midsummer, we share what is maybe the loveliest piece of Swedish traditions with the rest of the Big Apple (which means not just the U.S. but other cultures and countries also).
