Indian Summer Days in Gothenburg

The glorious summer of 2014 continues.

  • The glorious summer of 2014 continues in Göteborg and there is only one thing to do and that’s to head out and enjoy the sun. With near perfect Indian summer temperatures, simply enjoying a fika at my favorite outdoor cafe isn’t going to cut it this weekend. Nor is staying home in my cozy but indoor office going to be a viable option. A trip to Göteborg's archipelago sounds like a wonderful idea and I have to tell you … the archipelago is the best part about Göteborg.
An easy trip on the #11 tram delivers me straight to Saltholmen and directly to the ferry line. It is an afternoon of Scandinavian bliss with blue skies, friendly people, fishing communities and harbor views.
This is a place with character and charm. Having lived near the U.S. coast in Connecticut, I was always of the notion that the coast provided therapeutic and magical powers. Each month, the turning of each season, always provided a picture of the shoreline's unique personality. The archipelago is just such a place. A place I could visit in any type of weather during any season. Here are some of September’s images.
