'Meet up with Scandinavia'

SSCNYC is the Scandinavian social club in NYC where you want to go if you enjoy speaking and hearing the languages of Denmark, Norway, Sweden. Speak it and hear it you will!

  • Allan Chin speaks Danish fluently: "I was born in the U.S. and don't have any Danish roots. But I really wanted to learn Danish, and when I quit my job, I just packed my bags and moved to Denmark. I have lived in Germany before, so Denmark wasn’t that far from that experience. My dream would be if I could teach Nordic languages professionally." Stacey Elva, the meet-up organizer, speaks a little Swedish: "I think I am the only one here that has no Swedish roots whatsoever. I fell in love with the Swedish language when I was a kid and had a Swedish best friend. We started to speak Swedish when we were hanging out."
