Swedish producers make new NBC hits

Minute To Win It - 21 more episodes to air through September on NBC

  • "Minute To Win It," after successfully premiering on NBC television with 18 shows last spring, has been bought by the same network for another 21 episodes. Another program from the Swedish based television production company "Friday TV" —NBC has now purchased a total of 39 episodes of this hit show that are being shown in all 34 markets.

  • Known as "Perfect 10" in pre-production, "Minute To Win It" is a prime time NBC reality/game show hosted by Food Network star Guy Fieri. To advance in the game, players complete certain tasks within 60 seconds. New episodes start July 7 and continue through September.

  • "Entering the U.S. market is a dream for anyone working with format development. 'Minute To Win It' has put us on the map there," said Estelle Bodén, CEO of Friday TV. Friday TV is owned by Metronome Film & Television, which is part of Shin Group.

  • "Minute To Win It" has also been sold to Germany, France, Poland, Brazil and Turkey, and the state-owned SVT has recently announced that they will broadcast the program in the fall. Other packages which the production company has sold internationally include the shows "Top Ten," "Wasted Spaces" and "Sound Imitators."

  • "Our US success has been invaluable to our sales in the rest of the world," added Bodén.
