• Vasa Park at Budd Lake, NJ, with its majestic trees and rolling hills, was home to the 29th annual ScanFest festival, the largest Scandinavian celebration in the northeast, on Sunday, Sept. 1.The heritage festival celebrates the cultures and contributions of the extended Nordic region and draws thousands of visitors every year. All-day food, entertainment, crafts, gifts, kids' activities, re-enactors, demonstrating artisans, organizational exhibitors, field arena contests, Vikings, and... the fourth annual North American wife-carrying contest!
