Three Swedish films are selected to the Cannes Film Festival’s section Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Directors' Fortnight).  

  • Johannes Nyholm’s film “Las Palmas” is one of three Swedish films selected to the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight.

  • Johannes Nyholm’s “Las Palmas” which was the opening film at the Göteborg International Film Festival this year and also won the short film prize Startsladden at the festival is one of the three Swedish films. Las Palmas is about a charter tourist played by Nyholm’s one-year-old daughter Helmi, other roles in the film are played by marionettes. The trailer for the film has after the Göteborg International Film Festival been a great success on YouTube and has been seen by more than 8 million people.

  • The other two Swedish films at Cannes Film Festival are Ruben Östlund's “Play” and Jens Assur’s “Killing The Chicken to Scare the Monkey”.
