'She Monkeys' best at Tribeca

The Swedish movie by debuting director Lisa Aschan won top award at Tribeca Film Festival.

  • The film, which is a debut feature film by Lisa Aschan, centers on the complicated relationship between two teenage girls competing under pressure in the equestrian world. It won jury comments as "haunting, resonant, but never posed."

  • Aschan's award included a $25,000 prize and the art award "Anna Christie Entering the Bar, 1965-1967" by Robert De Niro Sr.
    The award was presented by the fest's co-founders Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro along with Larry Korman from AKA Residences
