Danish Crown Prince skis Vasaloppet

The race, first held in 1922, has drawn a lot of high profile participants through the years. This year, royals from both Denmark and England.

    We already told you Pippa Middleton has registered for this year’s Vasaloppet. Now word has it, that Danish Crown Prince Frederik will ski as well. The race, which was first held in 1922, is not only the world’s oldest and longest cross-country skiing competition; it is also the largest with its 15,800 participants. The event will be declared open by Prince Carl Philip of Sweden on Friday, and the 90 km race (close to 56 miles), will take place on Sunday, March 4, beginning in the popular skiing area Sälen.
