Gaultier for Lindex

The French designer will design clothing for ladies and children as well as underwear and a number of accessories for the Swedish retailer.

  • French designer Jean Paul Gaultier will design for Swedish Lindex this year, as a part of Lindex’s 60th anniversary.
  • Lindex, the Swedish clothing company, turns 60 this year and will celebrate by collaborating with famous French designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
”It feels great to design a collection for Lindex that carries my signature and also at the same time participate in the fight against breast cancer,” says Gaultier to the magazine QX.

  • One of Gaultier’s most infamous designs: Madonna’s cone bra. Probably not what the Lindex collection will include, however.
  • Gaultier will design clothing for ladies and children as well as underwear and a number of accessories for Lindex; the collection will be presented on October 8 in selected stores. ”I think we’ve found a good mix of these elements, the collection is exciting, chic and strong, just like the Lindex woman,” Gaultier also said. Jean Paul Gaultier has designed costumes for several movies, including ”The Fifth Element,” ”Kika” and ”The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover,” but he might be most famous for the stage costumes he made for Madonna, especially the famous cone bra.
