Swedish trend: 'Specialkaffe' gourmet coffee

Coffee connoisseurs create new cravings and have opened for several micro coffee roasters in Sweden.

  • Vitamin C it is not but coffee just may strengthen the body’s natural immune system.
  • The Swedish coffee scene is being disrupted. Specialty roasters who place an emphasis on small select varieties over mass-produced products are finding a niche in what has traditionally been a market monopolized by a handful of big brands. Gevalia, Löfbergs Lila and Zoega are well known brands but as people become more educated about coffee and the complexity of the entire process from bean to beverage, their cravings for quality, hand-selected coffee replaces the traditional consumption of the acidic based flavors common to much of the mass-produced Swedish coffee.
