Atlas buys American Air

Northern compressor customers to benefit from better relationships

  • A Swedish firm, Atlas Copco Compressors, has purchased assets of American Air Products. The American firm mainly sold Atlas Copco products in recent years in Minnesota, and the Dakotas as well as areas in Wisconsin.

  • Operating under the name Clayhill, American Air's purchase also entails some 18 employees who will join Atlas Copco, and the business will be incorporated into the Central Region of Atlas Copco Compressors in the US. The Clayhill name will continue being used for an interim period.

  • "This acquisition gives us the opportunity to bring some experienced sales and aftermarket people into Atlas Copco, and will allow for an even greater customer focus," said Stephan Kuhn, Business Area President, Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. Their statement added that the economic activity in this region - both varied and competitive - offers opportunities for Atlas Copco to advance customer relationships.
