For two weeks in November, Taxi Stockholm has run a trial "taxiterapeuterna" (taxi therapy) promotion. Probably the first of its kind in the world, passengers are given a chance to relieve stress on the go.

Psychotherapists sit in the back seats of three different cabs, offering free consultations during a taxi ride — by chance or by appointment. The length of the trip and topic of conversation is up to the passenger, and costs the same as a regular taxi ride. After a study revealed that “around 70 percent of people said their taxi journeys were a good time for reflection and that they often found their minds wandering,” the initiative made sense — it may be one of the few times anyone actually has time to let thoughts wander.
Time will tell whether this becomes a permanent program.
