The Swedish National Museum facelift

A new star patterned glass roof will add light and a more modern feel to the museum in Stockholm.

  • After almost 2 1/2 years of renovation, Sweden’s National Museum is closer to completion. Doors won't open again for more than a year, but this 151-year-old landmark already looks lighter and brighter thanks to a new light park that has a 35-meter-high glass roof and will provide seating and room for exhibits. Over 280 people have worked to revive this treasured building and when it opens in October 2018, this sneak peek inside shows that the wait will have been worth it.
