World-class education in Stockholm

Accelerate your career in Stockholm by studying at one of the best business schools in the world.

  • "Many years ago, we decided to become an international school in Sweden, says Lars Strannegård, president of Stockholm School of Economics.
  • Do you want an experience for life and a degree from one of the world’s best business schools? In September, the newest Financial Times Masters in Management rankings were published and the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) Master's Program in International Business advanced 11 places, ranking number 12 in the world.
"This is extremely pleasing and means a great deal to us. There are more than 14,000 business schools in the world and 100 of them make it to the list. Gaining such a good position on the ranking is a result of the long term investments we’ve made over the years to improve our curriculum and make sure we deliver the best possible learning for international and Swedish students alike,” says Lars Strannegård, president of Stockholm School of Economics.
Over the past three years, the SSE has advanced more than 30 places in the ranking and continues to have the best ranked Masters in Management program in the Nordic region.
"Many years ago, we decided to become an international school in Sweden and designed a program that’s attractive internationally. It draws skilled students from abroad and many stay in Sweden to work, benefiting Swedish companies keen to hire the best talent. Stockholm School of Economics exists to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness and it’s important for Sweden that we show we have world-class educational programs,” continues Strannegård.

  • "Even though the school is small with only 1800 students in total, I not only have peers from all over the world, but they also come from a variety of backgrounds" - Abigail Richardson, a currently enrolled student in the International Business program.
  • Graduate with two degrees
The program is designed for students who want to become the next generation of international leaders. The education has a strong focus on business and management but always with an international perspective. Students who are admitted to the program are also pre-approved for CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education), which means that by studying the international business program students graduate with two degrees – from SSE and from CEMS.
"With increasing globalization, obtaining a master’s degree abroad is a great way to advance your future career, and SSE provides the perfect combination of international experience, hands-on projects and an open-minded atmosphere to grow not only as a professional but as an individual as well,” says Abigail Richardson, a student in the international business program.
Abigail already has a BSc in nutrition, with minors in Spanish and journalism, which couldn’t be any more different from what she is studying now. But when she started searching for the right master’s program, SSE felt like the perfect fit. An international student cohort, prestigious international recognition and location in one of the most beautiful cities in the world made it an easy choice. So did the tuition. When comparing to similar postgraduate programs in the U.S., SSE’s tuition was a fraction of the cost, and with scholarship opportunities, studying in Stockholm was easily affordable.
"One of the best aspects about SSE is that diversity is highly valued. Even though the school is small with only 1800 students in total, I not only have peers from all over the world, but they also come from a variety of backgrounds, giving the program a well rounded and unique perspective,” says Abigail.
“As an SSE student, I can honestly say there is an inclusive and accepting atmosphere where I feel truly valued as an individual,” she continues.
“I knew pursuing my education at SSE would help me continue to follow my passion while also giving me the foundation and knowledge required to work internationally.“
