Sweden's best beaches

A west coast beach shares first place with Boda Sand's beach on Oland in a recent SIFO survey.

  • The west coast wins for having the best beaches in Sweden, according to this year’s survey by SIFO for the travel organizer Resia. Both Tylösand and Skrea beaches come in among the ten most popular Swedish beaches.

  • The beach on Skanör in the south shares a second place with Gotland's Sudersand in the recent survey. The elongated reef-like western part of the Falsterbo Peninsula that houses the two towns of Skanör and Falsterbo, which have grown together, but are still regarded as different communities by locals.

  • Most beaches are in the south but as is usually the case, with the exception of Pite Havsbad in the northernmost region, Norrbotten, often referred to as the Riviera of Norrland or Sweden just south of the Arctic Circle.
