Like last year, Uppsala takes first place as the Year's Cycle Promotion Municipality among larger municipalities (more than 100,000 inhabitants) with 88 out of 90 possible points. “New paths, operation, maintenance and work to impact behavior linked to cycling-promoting measures along with increased financial investments are among the winning factors," according to a press release.

  • Linköping is second and Lund third. Among medium-sized municipalities (population: 50-100,000) we find Karlstad, Växjö and Sollentuna at the top. Of the big cities Göteborg stands out in eighth place, followed by Malmö in eleventh place and Stockholm in thirteenth.
